ロンドンでFREE NOW (mytaxi)というアプリを使ってみました。Uberのような配車アプリです。一度使い方を間違えてしまいましたが、正しく使えば便利なアプリだと思ったので、失敗談とともに紹介します。
一回目に利用した時、ピックアップ場所を「現在地」で自動入力されるように設定しました。するとスマホのGPS機能が不調だったのか、実際にいる場所からかなり離れた地点がピックアップ場所になってしまいました。気付いた時にはドライバーが到着していて、実際の居場所を伝えると「そんなに遠くまでは迎えに行けないからキャンセルして」と言われました。そして言われた通りにキャンセルしたら、キャンセル料を6ポンド取られてしましました(泣)
次は失敗しないぞ！と意気込み再チャレンジ。二回目はGPS機能を使わずに、「○○劇場」のように施設名を打ち込んでピックアップ場所を設定。すると近くのドライバーが割り当てられ、数分で到着し、目的地まで連れて行ってもらえました。乗車前に値段が表示されるので、金額に関しても安心です。ピックアップ場所さえ間違えなければ便利なアプリだと思いました。
I used a taxi app called FREE NOW (mytaxi) in London. Although I failed to use when I tried for the first time, I thought it was a convenient app when used properly. I write about the app with my experience when I failed.
At first, I used a "current location" function when I chose the pickup address. However, the wrong address was selected, probably because of a poor condition of the GPS of my smartphone. The driver was already there when I noticed that the wrong address was selected. He told me to cancel the trip because he was too far from where I was. When I cancelled the trip, it cost 6 pounds as cancellation fee!
On my second trial, I didn't use the GPS. Instead, I typed the name of a theatre to tell them where I was. Then a car came to the place in a few minutes, and the trip was comfortable. The app showed how much it would cost before the taxi arrived, so there is no need to worry about the fare. Since it's convenient, I want to use the app again with being careful about the pickup address.
