2024年10月19日、調布市せんがわ劇場で『ドクターズジレンマ』を観劇（2時間35分、休憩込み）。以下、ネタバレ注意です。
タイトルの通り、医者のジレンマを描く作品でした。治療を施せる人数が限られている中、救う価値のある人間は誰か、選択を迫られる医者が登場したからです。実はこの医者の決断は早く、ジレンマと言うほど葛藤する様子はあまりないのですが、周りの人物との対話の中で様々な意見が出るので、観客の方が「誰の命を救うべきか」「そもそも命の価値を天秤にかけるべきではない」「医者には倫理的であってほしいが、救える人数は限られている」などと考えてしまう仕掛けがあったように思います。そういった意味で、ジレンマを中心に展開される作品であり、そこに様々な考え方があるからこそ（登場人物の信念も観客の意見も含めて）、人間を俯瞰して見たような作品だと思いました。

On 19 October 2024, I saw and heard The Doctor's Dilemma by George Bernard Shaw at Chofu City Sengawa Theater in Tokyo.
As the title shows, it is a story about a dilemma. In the plot, a doctor has to decide which patient to save with the limited capacity of medication. In other words, it's to judge who is worth living and who is not. Actually, the doctor makes up his mind pretty soon, so he doesn't seem to have a dilemma. However, conversations with other characters make audiences think seriously - who to save, whether it's unethical to compare people's lives, whether a doctor can be ethical even during a pandemic, and so on. Because the play makes audiences think in different ways, I think the play is about a dilemma even though the doctor on stage doesn't suffer from a dilemma. Also, because there are several perspectives, including characters' ones and audiences' ones, I can feel how Shaw sees human beings.
