2026年5月30日、PARCO劇場にて『リチャード三世』を観劇（3時間、休憩込み）。 リチャード三世は、残虐な悪役として描かれることも、狡猾な政治家のように描かれることもあるキャラクターです。そんな中、今回のリチャード三世は、悪役、国王、政治家といった枠組みに当てはめなくても「言葉や表情や演技で人を動かせることに気持ち良くなっていった人物」に見えました。「なっていった」と書いたのは、場面が進むにつれて段階的にそう見えたからです。リチャード三世を演じた吉田羊さんは、2024年に ハムレット を演じていて、その時にも声の使い分けが特徴的だという印象を受けました。声や表情の使い分けは、登場人物が嘘をついたり、ふりをしたりする場合、普段の演技と比べて二重に大事なものとなりますが、それが上手かったと思います。 On 30 May 2026, I saw and heard Richard III by William Shakespeare at Parco Theater in Tokyo. Richard can be labelled as a perfect villain, politically wise leader, and so on according to its direction in each production. This time, however, I could see Richard out of such framework, and I found Richard a person who simply enjoys the fact that he can manipulate others by words, expressions, and pretending.
