くまのプーさん＠日本橋三井ホール

2024年5月4日、日本橋三井ホールにてミュージカル『くまのプーさん』を観劇（65分、休憩なし）。人形を使った舞台上演に興味があり、また、くまのプーさんが好きなので、楽しく観ることができました。

人形と人形使いの関係が良かったです。プーさんたちが主役なので、人形使いの方が目立ってはいけませんが、人形使いはある程度の表現を見せていました。例えば、人形の台詞や動きに合わせて、表情を変えたりしていました。このバランスは、人形使いが存在感を全く感じさせなかったMy Neighbour Tororo（2022年）とも、人間の役者と人形が共演していた『道化恐怖症』（2024年）とも異なるもので、人形劇（あるいは、人形が登場する上演）の幅広さを感じました。

くまのプーさんは幼少期から好きです。イギリス留学中には、ゆかりの地であるハートフィールドにも行きました。今回の上演では、ハートフィールドで見た橋などが再現されていて、嬉しかったです。

On 4 May 2024, I saw and heard a musical Winnie the Pooh at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo.

I'm interested in a production with puppets, and I like Winnie the Pooh, so I enjoyed the show.

The puppeteers' way of existence was interesting. They didn't stand out as much as puppets, but still, they had facial expressions behind the puppets. It was different from My Neighbour Totoro (2022), where the puppeteers were in black and they were supposed to be invisible, or a puppet show in Shimokitazawa (2024), where human actors and puppets were interactive to each other. There are various kinds of puppet shows (including productions performed by human actors and puppets together).

I have been a fan of Winnie the Pooh since I was little. While I was in England, I visited Hartfield, a so-called hometown of Winnie the Pooh. In this production, I was glad to see the stage had a bridge that looked like the one I saw in Hartfield.

陽気な幽霊＠シアタークリエ

2025年5月10日、シアタークリエにて『陽気な幽霊』を観劇（3時間、休憩込み）。嚙み合わない会話や嫉妬によって笑える喜劇でしたが、終わり方はしっとりとしたものでした。二人の妻の霊を見送ったチャールズが、寂しそうで、でも解放されたようにも見え、印象的でした。この場面が特に心に残ったのは何故か思い返してみると、2021年にロンドンの Harold Pinter Theatreで観た上演では、この場面がカットされていたからだと思います。その上演では、エルヴィラの霊をあの世に戻すことができず、ルースの霊まで呼び出してしまった、というところで終わっていたと思います。記憶が曖昧な部分もありますが、当時の観劇ノートを見返すと、マダム・アーカティの失敗が観客の笑いを誘って幕、と書いてあり、上演時間も40分ほど差があるので、そうだったはずです。『陽気な幽霊』を観るのはその時が初めてだったので、そのような終わり方をするものだと思い込んでいました。それなので、今回初めて観た最後の場面が、特に印象に残ったのだと思います。笑いと感動の両方を楽しめた舞台、観ることができて良かったです。 On 10 May 2025, I saw and heard Blithe Spirit by Noël Coward at Theatre Creation in Tokyo. The play, full of misunderstandings and jealous, was a hilarious comedy. However, the very last scene was a touching one. When the wives' spirits had gone, Charles looked sad but a little relieved. Design Museum

ロンドンにあるデザイン・ミュージアムへ行ってきました。4年前にロンドンを訪れた時、ここのお土産屋さんだけ立ち寄る時間があり、それだけでもカラフルで惹かれると思っていたので、今回ミュージアムの中も見ることが出来て良かったです。常設展示では、「デザイナー」「ユーザー」「メーカー」と3つの視点から色々なものが展示されていました。アートとしてのデザインだけでなく、広い意味で、人が何をどのようにつくり、どのように使ってきたのかをたどる展示でした。近代以降の人々の生活をたどる展示と言えるかもしれません。 I visited the Design Museum in London. Its permanent exhibition focuses on three perspectives: designer, user, and maker. It's not only about artistic designs but also about "what people made?" "how people have used them?" "what made lives more convenient?" and so on. Then, I thought the exhibition is about people's lives after Industrial Revolution.
