くまのプーさん＠日本橋三井ホール

2024年5月4日、日本橋三井ホールにてミュージカル『くまのプーさん』を観劇（65分、休憩なし）。人形を使った舞台上演に興味があり、また、くまのプーさんが好きなので、楽しく観ることができました。

人形と人形使いの関係が良かったです。プーさんたちが主役なので、人形使いの方が目立ってはいけませんが、人形使いはある程度の表現を見せていました。例えば、人形の台詞や動きに合わせて、表情を変えたりしていました。このバランスは、人形使いが存在感を全く感じさせなかったMy Neighbour Tororo（2022年）とも、人間の役者と人形が共演していた『道化恐怖症』（2024年）とも異なるもので、人形劇（あるいは、人形が登場する上演）の幅広さを感じました。

くまのプーさんは幼少期から好きです。イギリス留学中には、ゆかりの地であるハートフィールドにも行きました。今回の上演では、ハートフィールドで見た橋などが再現されていて、嬉しかったです。

On 4 May 2024, I saw and heard a musical Winnie the Pooh at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo.

I'm interested in a production with puppets, and I like Winnie the Pooh, so I enjoyed the show.

The puppeteers' way of existence was interesting. They didn't stand out as much as puppets, but still, they had facial expressions behind the puppets. It was different from My Neighbour Totoro (2022), where the puppeteers were in black and they were supposed to be invisible, or a puppet show in Shimokitazawa (2024), where human actors and puppets were interactive to each other. There are various kinds of puppet shows (including productions performed by human actors and puppets together).

I have been a fan of Winnie the Pooh since I was little. While I was in England, I visited Hartfield, a so-called hometown of Winnie the Pooh. In this production, I was glad to see the stage had a bridge that looked like the one I saw in Hartfield.

十二夜＠シアターχ

2026年2月17日、シアターχにて『十二夜』を観劇（2時間45分、休憩込み）。舞台セットの使い方、特に場面の転換が良かったです。90度ずつ（場面によっては45度ずつ）回転させることで、船にも屋敷にも庭にも見える舞台セットは万能だと思いました。特に好きだと思ったのは、第1幕第1場から第2場に移り変わる時でした。青い衣装を身につけた役者たちが、船に見立てたセットを動かすことで、難破を表現していたと思います。このような演出は、2023年に同じシアターχで上演された『ペリクリーズ』を思い出させるものでした。双子の再会の場面はいつも感動するのですが、今回は双子が海で離れ離れになる場面からグッときました。それはきっと、上記のような場面転換が上手く、役者の演技も相まって、ヴァイオラとセバスチャンの運命が動くことにドキリとしてしまったからだと思います。 On 17 February 2026, I saw and heard Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare at Theatre χ in Tokyo. 101分のペリクリーズ＠シアター風姿花伝

2026年3月5日、シアター風姿花伝にて『101分のペリクリーズ』を観劇（約100分、休憩なし）。以下、ネタバレ注意です。壮大なペリクリーズの物語を約100分にまとめるということで、台詞や場面のカットがありました。その中で大きな変更点だと思ったのは、第3幕でのセリモンとセーザのやりとりがカットされていたことです。それにより、セーザが実は生きていたということは観客にも知らされず、第5幕でペリクリーズやマリーナが知るまで隠されていました。情報量において観客が優位に立つのはよくあることですが、今回の演出は、ペリクリーズやマリーナが長い喪失の後で再会の感動を味わうのと同時に（同様に）観客もクライマックスを受け取れるのだと思いました。セリモンとセーザの場面のカットは、「物足りない」ではなく「ラストが劇的に見える」と思うやり方でした。また、種明かしのタイミングの特異性は『冬物語』のハーマイオニを思わせるものでした。それなので、このカンパニーで『冬物語』を観てみたいとも思いました。 (Caution: contains a spoiler.) 恋におちたシェイクスピア＠自由劇場

2026年1月24日、自由劇場にて『恋におちたシェイクスピア』を観劇（2時間55分、休憩込み）。映画『恋におちたシェイクスピア』は10年ほど前に観て好きだと思っていました。プロットの面白さはそのままに、今回は演劇だからこその興味深い点もあったと思います。特に終盤、劇中劇でのロミオとジュリエットと、それを演じるウィルとヴァイオラの姿が重なるところが良かったです。ロミオとジュリエット／ウィルとヴァイオラが重なるとしても、映像作品では「今、劇中劇の『ロミオとジュリエット』を演じている」「今は舞台裏で、ウィルとヴァイオラのリアルな場面だ」と視覚的に見分けがつきます。しかし映画のレンズを通さず、生の演劇として観ると、『ロミオとジュリエット』という劇中劇も、ウィルとヴァイオラという一段階リアルになった場面も、同じ枠の中で見えました（ウィルとヴァイオラの恋はフィクションですが、ロミジュリという芝居と比べたら現実、という意味で「一段階リアルになった」と書きました）。そのため、ウィルとヴァイオラの恋がドラマチックに見えました。リアリティーの境界線があいまいに見えたのは、自由劇場にいた私たちが、『ロミオとジュリエット』を観る当時のロンドンの観客にも、ウィルとヴァイオラを見守る現代の観客にも、どちらにもなれる演出だったからだと思います。流動的に、劇場にも舞台裏にもなる舞台セットでした。 On 24 January 2026, I saw and heard Shakespeare in Love at Jiyu Theatre in Tokyo.
